About Michelle works in a variety of media and her style is deliberately abstract with a bold use of color. Her palette is inspired by the colors in a sunset, clouds, rain, grasslands and the mood of the horse . Through her process she works to highlight the muscle and movement with fast and bold lines.
“The passion of the horse is what fuels my work,” “I like to use simple fast lines to define the beauty and movement of the horse.
“Nature inspires me, and when you are moved by something you love you’re going to try and represent it in some way. For me horses represent such amazing beauty, grace, and power. From the time I was a small child I have had a connection with the horse, it is a subject in my art that I have continuously come back to over and over.
Their shape and physicality make them a beautiful piece of art, even for people who aren’t interested in them in any other way.”
Michelle currently lives and works from her studio in Sheridan, WY.
Michelle graduated from UCCS in 1995 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts.
